Instrutor 45 and friends - Video

Capoeira takes you many places, such as across town for another teacher's roda, to across the ocean for batizados and encounters such as Vadeia Mundo Vadeia in Gent, Belgium. It is on these trips, shows, and everyday training that we make friends who become a part of our capoeira lives and history.

Instrutor 45's 1st Kid's Batizado at Sonho Meu - Liberdade, Salvador, BA

The article below published by Correio da Bahia, was when 45 had his first kid's batizado at Sonho Meu, in the neighborhood where he grew up.
Instrutor 45 taught at Sonho Meu for three years; ending every school year with a batizado celebrating the kid's dedication and appreciation for the art of capoeira.

Instrutor 45 visits Instrutor Atoa in Paris 2006


Instrutor 45 visited Instrutor Atoa, his best friend, in January of 2006. In Bahia, they were unseparable, always training together.
45 tells stories about how they would train at eight in the morning, in January in Paris. Anyone wh
o has been to Paris that time of year, knows that the only thing to do is sit in a café and drink hot chocolate and of course all the amazing indoor museums. Could you train in the park early mornings in the height of winter?

The Good Old Days at Academia Mandinga

Nothing like a regular roda at Mestre Sabiá's Academia Mandinga.

45 gets comfortable around the amazing art displayed at New Design's Rooftop Legends by doing what he knows best, the Ginga!







He couldn't leave out a parada tough!!! The exhibit will be around until next year, so if you get a chance go down to L.E.S. and check it out.

Presentation at Opening of Casa do Brasil













A new Brazilian non-profit organization, built to serve all New Yorkers spreading Brazilian culture and awareness in the Big Apple. Instrutor 45 together with the members of Ginga Mundo Capoeira were invited to attend the opening as guests and performers.


Opening night of Casa Do Brasil consisted of Brazilian salgadinhos, such as coxinhas, pão de queijos, sambistas, capoeiristas and of course Roberto Carlos' cover. Casa do Brasil marks the beginning of a non-profit Brazilian organization in New York that will serve the community by celebration traditional holidays, such as São João, movies, cultural events and more.
